If fat loss is your goal this season, here are some tricks that I’m up to.
-WHOLE FOODS – As we all know, whole foods are better than processed. My usual 80/20 rule is now more like a 90/10. The less calorie dense food we eat in the run-up to summer, the easier it will be to burn that fluff!. Instead of Friday to Sunday allowing the odd ‘treat’ you might want to cut out a Sunday for instance. If you’re currently consuming 60% whole foods, get it up to 75%. Friday night takeaway? Swap it for a home-cooked stir fry! This one little change will barely be noticeable and I gaurantee you will thank yourself in the long run.
– FASTING – some call it ‘skipping breakfast’. These people are usually trying to downplay it as they struggle to fend off cravings. In my experience, fasting has been the most powerful tool in my multiple fat-loss journeys. Aside from the multiple health benefits, fasting has now become an absolute must for me as I struggle to understand how people even manage to hit a deficit without implementing a prolonged period of time without food. Eating at 2PM instead of 7AM gives me a HUGE advantage of staying within my calorie range.

– NOTHING IS EVER RUINED – Ended up on a bender? Smashed off the whole pack of biscuits instead of just two? No worries at all. One thing I teach people is to never think you have undone weeks of work in just one day or even a weekend. The chances are you haven’t eaten s much as you think and the balance can be easily rectified over the coming days / weeks. If you had seen what I ate a few weeks ago and still managed to finish the week in a deficit, you wouldn’t believe it.
